South Hill Spokane

This quaint Upper South Hill Bungalow was in dire need of a major exterior remodel.  The original cedar board and batten siding was cupped, split, stained, and stripped of it's original luster.  Exteriors By Aspen was humbly tasked with replacing the entire envelope - from the fascia down to the foundation.  We began removing the siding and found that the original sheathing wasn't suitable for new siding so we ended up removing and replacing it as well.  While the new OSB sheathing was exposed, we installed a fresh blanket of blown-in cellulose insulation to all the exterior wall cavities.  This achieved an R-13 which was a huge improvement over the previous insulation; air.   We installed a classy combination of James Hardie Monterrey Taupe horizontal lap siding and James Hardie ColorPlus Iron Gray Vertical Board and Batten siding with Arctic White James Hardie Rustic trim and accessories including trim, soffit, and fascia.   Along with some custom aluminum flashing work, this home now shines as it once did back in the 40's!

New Siding Liberty Lake

On this project we were asked to remove the existing white aluminum siding and replace it with James Hardie ColorPlus plank in Iron Gray with Arctic White accessories.   Upon removal of the aluminum, as is the case with 95% of homes with aluminum siding, there was a layer of cedar lap below.   This cedar lap was original to the home and was coated with lead based paint.

Being an EPA certified RRP firm, we addressed this issue with professionalism and precision and removed all the siding down to the original sheathing.

We then installed James Hardie's branded weather resistive barrier, HardieWrap, to begin this home's transformation.   We installed new solid and vented James Hardie soffit and fascia as well as rustic Hardietrim all in Arctic White.  The horizontal plank is 8.25" Cedarmill in Iron Gray and provided a stunning transformation.

This home was also finished off with a new pre-hung front door, eliminating the full radius door and we added gutters, as well.

Otis Orchards Siding

On this old farm house we were tasked to remove the aluminum siding that was beat up, dented, sagging, and utterly sad and replace it with James Hardie ColorPlus siding and trim.   When the aluminum siding came off we discovered not only was there cedar shake underneath, there were varying thicknesses of sheathing that required us to resheath portions of the home with up to 2" of plywood!  Once this was properly dealt with we installed 1" rigid foam insulation to the outside of the home in a pilot program with Avista Utilities.  As for the colors chosen by the homeowner, they chose to install James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding in Cobblestone with James Hardie ColorPlus Rustic HardieTrim in Arctic White for a timeless, classic look that really brought this old farmhouse up to date.
